Crash Course Notes: Bad sound makes any video frustrating, you always hear even if you aren't looking. Sound production takes just as long as anything else regarding a film. Head is the sound mixer, this person is responsible for recording everything on set and providing proper equipment. The Boom Op is the second in command who is responsible for picking up the actors voices and everything in the scene. Microphones need a windscreen so that every little sound isn't picked up. Big windscreens are called dead cats, sound people might have to change mics from scene to scene.

 Sound design

This sound design project was really fun, and I really enjoyed it! I learned way more than I did last year regarding sound and how to record certain things that you ultimately will need for your film. I liked finding the certain sound effects that fit well for the film and overlapping certain sounds. It was very satisfying at the end seeing all the sounds overlapping and how many I used when editing it on Final Cut. I think that I did a pretty okay job on this sound design and I always tried to make sure that there was some sort of sound playing throughout the whole "silent" film. It was also a good way to learn how to use clip grab, how to detach audio from the clips I wanted and how to really amplify a film with sound. I also learned a lot from the two videos and they were very helpful and informative!

This is what the final product looked like!

Tascam Notes: batteries go in the back, hold the button down until Tascam turns on! If there is a file on the on the Tascam, erase the filly either hitting "quick" and hitting delete or by hitting menu, scroll down to others and eventually hit system and fix the backlight so that the light stays on while using it. Then go to the quick format which will delete the file on the Tascam. Which will delete the whole file and is now ready to record. Then hit home and it is clean and ready to record. For recording use mono or stereo, or use dual for louder noises which record two files
